Love the life you have while you create the life of your dreams. Don’t think you have to wait for the latter to do the former.
- Live In The Moment
Many of us find it difficult to enjoy the present because we are so busy dwelling on the past and worrying about the future. While learning from the past and planning for the future can be beneficial, try to make sure you are spending the majority of your time focused on enjoying the present. In particular, try to let go of regrets. Remember that going over your regrets will not change what has happened; it will only ruin your present happiness. Make amends and try to learn from your mistakes, then let them go and devote your energy instead to creating a life you love.
- Become Aware
If you want to shift from where you are to where you want to be, you must become aware of the choices that you make each day which take you away from your desired goals. There’s no way you can change direction if you aren’t aware that you’re not headed in the direction you want to go. You must also discover what your true hopes and dreams are. In order to love the life you have, you must strive for more. Be in the process of building and expanding yourself as a person, not just focusing on success in one area. The more you grow yourself, the more you will grow in life.
- Practice Gratefulness
Every day, no excuses. Pretend to be grateful if you must. It’s one of those things that catches up to you quickly as life reciprocates your emotional generosity. Seeing the good in your life will allow you to keep your heart fed while you work to change the more unsavoury parts. Try it. Live it. You’ll love it.
- Become Your Own Authority
Oftentimes pursuing your dreams proves to be more difficult than you had ever imagined. For this reason, you have to be the authority over your own emotions. You may not have had any idea how much time it would take you to get to where you want to go, and you may not have expected to have had as many demands placed upon you or your life as happened, or you may not have realized how long you would have to keep paying the price for your happiness as a result of the many demands placed upon your life. But what determines the successful from the mediocre is the ability to take authority over their tiresome times, deeply believing that the payoff of their hard work will make the times of great sacrifice well worth it.
- Accomplish Your Goals
What goals and desires do you have that you’re not living out. If you want to live a life you love, you must accomplish the goals you’ve set for yourself. It’s also important to have a teachable spirit. You couldn’t imagine the levels of success you can achieve when you possess this. Once you’ve done the work to identify your goals and the specific steps you can take to achieve them, there are a variety of things you can do to increase the chances you have to achieve these goals. One of these things is keeping your goals on hand. Think of your goals often and keep them in mind when making decisions in your life.
- Learn Something New Everyday
Most of us have at least one area of knowledge that we strive to know very well. This may be things related to our job or our hobbies. While it’s important to develop a deep understanding of the things that matter most to us, it’s also important to develop a broad understanding of what’s going on in the world around us. There are a lot of good reasons to make learning a part of your daily routine, but the best reason has nothing to do with practicality. Because we are learning creatures, the lifelong process of learning is what makes us human and our lives worthwhile. When you take the time to learn something new every day, you will begin to feel more knowledgeable and empowered because you know things that you never knew before.
- Appreciate The Small Things
We often spend our time looking forward to the next ‘big thing’ or exciting event in our lives and awaiting our next shot of happiness. However, to truly love your life you need to start appreciating every day and those little things that make you happy. Make a list of the day-to-day things that make you happy – such as having your favourite lunch, listening to your favourite song or having breakfast in bed – and make sure you schedule one of these treats into every day.
