I’m Shama Prabhakar Tulshigiri, a Software professional ( In IT from last 12 years). Also, a Certified Sports Nutrition & Fitness Consultant by passion. For me, fitness is a passion and a lifestyle not just a short-term program. Fitness is a combination of health and mental wellness. I have been always a lucky person that my family is supportive in my decisions.

How did you start your entrepreneurship journey?

Being a successful software professional, workaholic nature and with huge responsibilities I had ignored to make the health a priority, faced obesity issues and then a wake-up call of my life happened. I can say I was lucky to get that call at an early stage.

After trying many diet programs and failed to get rid of obesity and finally, I ended with Calorie dense and nutrient rich food- health program.

Through one of my close friends (Harini Chinchine) I came to know about Nutrition Consultant Mr. Rafi Shaikh my mentor, who is currently founder of the Pune based fitness company.

After achieving the best version of myself (lost almost 12 kgs) through the health nutrition program. I was continuously getting interest to know more about Nutrition science and decided-to guide people to achieve their best version and-make people understand the importance of the fitness and the right nutrition. So, I did Certification in sports Nutrition from one of the-recognized school / Acadamy K11 and this is how the journey began. I now consult thousands of peoples, specially women and help them choose a healthy lifestyle.

What are the main challenges you faced in this journey?

Challenges are part and parcel of life, so we can’t run away from it. To follow any kind of diet was not an easy for me where i was going through medical condition like hypothyroidism, Medicine was not helping to lose weight. I was feeling like just doing mechanical work, without any interest.

So the only option I realized that was to correct my nutrition with dedication. And then the result was amazing and it pushed me more towards my fitness passion.

How did you prepared yourself to accept the challenge?

Without my Family support and guidance by my Mentor Rafi, it was not possible. If there is will power there is a way to overcome every difficult situation. With busy schedule of my office work, I was able to join certification course on weekend batches.

During my transformation journey, I had seen very positive changes in me , my work productivity was significantly improved. I was more active in exercise which was helping me to keep my mental wellness. So I thought if I can get all these benefits then why not others.

My fitness passion and urge to learn the science behind correct Nutrition was helping me to achieve my goal. It’s just a start. There is long way to go!

What are the main struggles you see when clients come to you?

When a new client that is going through a major life transition comes to see me, the greater struggle is supporting them and helping them progress from despair to hope on the emotional side.

The main struggle / challenge is that to make people understand the importance and min time require for a health Nutrition program to achieve their fat loss and muscles gain process. People want results in one or two weeks. Most of the time they come up like I want to lose weight in 2-3 weeks, I have a marriage to attend so want to lose so and so weight during this time period etc etc. So important task is to make them understand that main purpose is not just losing weight, but way more than that there is building a fitness, improving energy level, and many more benefits.

How do you take your clients from where they are to where they wish to be?

It’s more important to let people understand the importance of correct Nutrition and prepare them mentally to follow Nutrition plans with discipline. So here comes the consultation by putting scientific facts and real transformations in front of them and Explaining about the medical conditions one is facing and how Correct Nutrition will help them to overcome this. So, little motivation and proper guidance can help them to achieve their fitness goal.

Would you like to give a message to the young women and aspiring women entrepreneurs?

Three D’s – Dedication, Determination and Discipline are important to follow which makes you successful in everything you want to achieve in life and the same applies to health as well. With many responsibilities, women always ignore health, so i would say that Health should be our top priority. If a woman is health conscious then it helps entire family.

Never stop learning and keep grinding yourself.
